At the Polytechnic College affiliated with the University of Technology in Ömnögovi province of MUST, a possibility has been created to study the profession of ‘Mining Machinery Operation Technician’ within the framework of a joint project based on public-private partnership with the Federal Republic of Germany’s Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, Ministry of Education, and employer companies.
The goal of the project is to increase the participation of women in the heavy machinery sector and to create sustainable jobs. More than 80 percent of the students enrolled in the program are selected from Umnugovi province, which is notable because it helps to train the workforce for the mining heavy machinery sector locally and provide employment opportunities. The blended learning approach offers the advantage of acquiring theoretical knowledge, gaining practical experience through internships at partner companies or learning while working, and having the opportunity to secure a job immediately after graduation.
